Not too far from there, and I drive by that station on my way to the post office or Smart & Final. Have you noticed that since the Thrifty stations changed to USA Gas last year almost all of them in this area have the same prices and change at the same time? I think they all have the same owner.

2travelers, it's time to update the comment in your FSL for the USA GASOLINE at Lankershim & Vanowen in North Hollywood. Every time you update prices for that station the comment shows 'This station is now open' but it has been open for several months since the changeover from Thrifty Gas.

I was a baby when you started at Pacific Bell (back in what is now CenturyLink territory, it was United Telephone then) and I retired in 2010 after being caught up in the RIF monster during the completion of the International Space Station. I went through a period of layoff before I was 55, but Boeing gives fairly favorable retirement terms for those who retire from a layoff. I also got severance, but by the time the pension money started coming in I had $13,000 in the bank plus a pretty good nest egg from 32 years of socking money away in the 401(k) like crazy. I did pretty good until I totaled my vehicle and went in the hospital 37 days for an unrelated condition. I ended out spending about four months after that in an extended-stay motel because I could not negotiate my way through my townhouse apartment. I later on moved to one that was on one level.

Well, this is a first. I've not used Gas Buddy for a com link before. Yes I understand that Salem is also Blue, however I believe it's a better place than what CA has evolved into. Winston-Salem? My wife couldn't/wouldn't put up with the snow. Yes I retired from Pac Bell in 1985, started in 1956 as an installer and the rest is history. At least in OR I don't have to put up with the dumocratic mess that has become CA. There's a lot more that I coil say but this may not be the proper time or place. Not too sure what the next step is in this whiteboard thing. Maybe it's buddy time or something, I really don't know. Bill

Retired TELCO? Did you work for Pacific Bell? Now, of course, the old Southwestern Bell swallowed up three other Baby Bells and the part of AT&T that wasn't equipment manufacturing. Two of the other Baby Bells merged with GTE to become Verizon, and the remaining one merged with CenturyTel and the wireline businesses of Sprint to become CenturyLink.

You're going to SALEM to get away from the blue crisis? It would be more appropriate to try WINSTON-SALEM!

A BIG CONGRATS on 300 consecutive days again! Awesome! Wow, another 100 days have passed again, already! : ) For some it seems pretty easy to come back each day! But for most GBs they don't seem to have the dedication or the persistence it takes to come back and post gas prices each day for other GBs! Or they just run out of gas! :( Hang onto your speed lines, it only takes one day to lose them! I'm sure you know! But even clicking on news articles links, which are the easiest points here on GasBuddy, when you can't or didn't post gas prices before midnight will save your consecutive days! : ) WARNING! Every day GBs lose their consecutive days for many reasons, many with big numbers, the #1 reason, "oops, I just forgot!" :( If you ever lose your consecutive days; that is NO FAULT of your own, please contact the mods! Keep posting each day to save your consecutive days! Keep going like a PRO Los Angeles GasBuddy! Have a nice week! Thanks!

On Friday 7/13/12, ImCheapinNJ reported on CobraLeader's Whiteboard, that CobraLeader passed away on 11 Dec 2010! I know it's been a long time since anyone has heard from CobraLeader, many GBs have been wondering what had happened to CobraLeader! :( I heard CL had more than 5,000 buddies on his buddy list and many more GBs knew of his presence here in GasBuddyland! We'll miss our buddy CobraLeader, but he'll always have GasBuddies that will remember him for being here! May CL R.I.P. : )
