Battle with traffic cameras intensifies

Delmarva Daily Times -- As the number of speed cameras and red light cameras on Maryland roads grows, frustrated drivers can turn to any number of technologies to avoid automated tickets.

Drivers have used sprays, reflective license plate covers and even car waxes to circumvent traffic cameras, even though authorities in Maryland and other states have banned them.

But the latest technology is noPhoto — a license plate cover that uses the same mechanics built into traffic cameras to fool them, and, unlike older products, could be more difficult for the authorities to detect.

In Maryland, red light cameras were introduced in 1997 and speed cameras in 2007. Both have been unpopular with drivers, often criticized as revenue generators for cities that do little to deter accidents.

They are required by law to post on a website, accessible by mobile phone and GPS devices, the locations forced light and speed cameras. They place them in dangerous locations where speed or red light running is an added danger. By doing it this way, they get the public to slow down or stop at red lights through deterrence rather than just doing it as a revenue stream. This should be part of our laws as well if they insist on using them in the US.

The CUCV's had radar absorbing paint so the MP's couldn't see us or catch us!
