Militant activists wasting time. It's OK, they have the freedom to speak their minds. Just don't block traffic & infringe on the freedom of the residents of D.C. to move around (like Obama always do on his too numerous visits to NYC)!

Keystone XL March Follows 'Do The Math' Event In Washington, D.C. If the US federal government does not build the Keystone XL pipeline to the gulf, Big Oil will find a way and build it anyway, 'Do The Math.' Sneeky will continue to oppose the Keystone pipeline, so your are in a dream world if you expect him to approve it. The Keystone XL pipeline is Not in his plans to help the US, the sheep voted him in again so you have to live with it for 'four more years.' OH NO! Big Oil and Big Gas exports fuel and natural gas to other countries that will pay more for it, much more than here. The Canadian pipeline will export that refined crude oil (fuel) and natural gas by way of the refineries on the Gulf Coast. There will be NO price reduction or cheaper prices for fuel or natural gas IN the US, so it does NOT matter how much crude oil or natural gas is produced. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the 'jobs' are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down. People will still drive and buy fuel no matter what but it sure helps to have a job too! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

President Obama will be giving us carbon taxes and VAT taxes. That should polish off our economy. Gas won't matter but food will.

The pipeline will only produce more profits and more finished fuels being shipped from our US oil now to other countries.

You won't have any spare change to invest, @ManOfLeisureII, if gas hits $10/gal.

Let the rich tree huggers be the first ones to give up their cars, SUVs, personal jets, etc....then we will see ifntheynreally mean it or if they just want everyone else to not have what they can afford to have if prices go up because of Obama's policies like not approving the Keystone pipeline.

Sure, @rx7racerca. The U.S. still imports oil or rather Big Oil imports cheaper oil on the global market while selling off more valuable domestic oil on that same market. Meanwhile, they continue to pocket the profit margin that they make in the middle.
Why is Big Oil so keen to build pipelines out of the Dakotas and Oklahoma? Because currently they have to sell all that new found tight oil at a discount since they can't get all of it out onto the global market. Exporting that oil drives up the prices of petroleum products in THIS country.
And if we have such an excess refining capacity in this country, then why does every little refinery disruption result in a spike in the price of gasoline and diesel? Big Oil is NOT interested in lowering gas prices. They are only interested in maximizing profits. They understand that we the drivers will howl and scream about gas prices but we still continue to fill up.

Aviator Rob: the problem is your statement is fundamentally wrong - "big oil" is not exporting crude from the US - the US is a net importer of almost 9 million barrels a day of crude to meet its own needs. Around 1.5 million barrels a day of *refined* products - mostly gasoline, diesel, and bunker fuel - are exported, which is a reflection of the fact drops in American consumption have left the US with excess refining capacity - those refineries either find new foreign customers, or they shut down. That American refineries are importing oil, and exporting refined products is still a win for America - profits and well-paying jobs are being preserved, and that imported crude that is re-exported as refined products, doesn't change at all the fact the US is a huge oil importer to meet its own needs.

The US is still in the grip of economic difficulties and a project like the Keystone XL pipeline will go a long ways towards breaking that grip.

"Get a life", @mstearno? Sure, as soon as you get a clue.
It wasn't always a point of fact that Big Business had a God-given right to screw their workers and their customers, all in their quest for the almighty dollar. Government used to actually speak for all Americans, not just the ones who funded campaigns and Super-PACs. Government was the brake on boundless greed but the business world bought out our government and now nothing will stand in their way.
Meet your new masters.
